ABOUT THE SEMINAR

This seminar will be exploring the impact of financial constraints on green innovation. The presenters will discuss their research showing how the Global Financial Crisis halted the growth of climate-enhancing patents. They’ll provide causal evidence that tight credit disproportionately affects green innovation, particularly through its impact on young firms. The seminar will introduce a quantitative framework demonstrating why young firms are crucial for the transition to green technologies, and how credit shocks can slow this transition by hampering their innovation capacity.
